What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have already posted about what technology I was going to use to create my magazine, I also wrote about there advantages and disadvantages.

After looking back at the technologies I used, I thought about how my media product would be different if I didnt have access to these technologies. There were very few things that I did with out using advanced technology. I used pen and paper to take note of a few things, but these were immediatly changed. For example, my shooting schedule was orginally written on paper, but I still decided to type it up simply for the fact it looks more presentable and it's easier to read. There were alot of things I took for granted throughout my coursework, for example a camera to take my pictures. Although my camera wasn't particularly advanced, it was crucial for takng my pictures for my magazine. Also, using editing software gave them a much more professional and desirable look. With out this, I would of had to use an existing image from another source or no image at all. Overall, I think that technology has benefited my media product greatly in creating a proffesional and modern feel.
I also thought about; 'is technology a subsitute for talent?' I agree with this statement to a small extent. I think that technology can be over used and things can be easily copied and this can mean that the person using it could have a lack of creativity. However, I think that technology can enhance existing talent. In this context of creating a magazine, I think that people can be creative in there ideas and technology can help create this. For example different fonts - these can be replicated throught the magazine and this would be alot more difficult by hand.
