Evaluating Deconstructions

I found that using textual analysis to look at current magazines very useful. This was because I was able to see clear convensions and patterns within the magazine. I also found this technique very inspiring and gained some ideas for my own magazines. For example, I really liked the idea of the diagram of the front cover on the Top of the Pops Magazine Contents. I think this is something I would like to do in my own magazine because, if I was going to read a magazine on which ever genre, something like that would be very appealing and useful in helping me find the articles I was interested in. Tetxual Analysis allowed me to gain alot of insight into techniques used in magazine. However, textual analysis can be quite time consuming and doesn't provide 'definate answers'.
